| Torbay - The English Riviera |
The English Riviera is collectively formed from the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The area enjoys a climate that is warmer than the rest of the country and more akin to the mediterranean.
Torquay
South facing, with a sunny aspect, the English Riviera has enjoyed a reputation as a health resort. Offering visitors all the facilities expected of an international holiday destination, with a wealth of attractions and activities awaiting the energetic...alternatively a sun lounger awaits those wanting a bit of r & r.
Paignton
The oldest of the three towns is in the centre of Torbay, and the distinctive red sandstone lends the area it's Mediterranean feel. The stunning safe beaches and coastline, along with the many attractions, make Paignton the UK's premier family resort.
Brixham
Nestling in the rugged cliffs at the southern end of Torbay, fishing has been carried out from Brixham for more than 900 years and remains in the forefront of today's industry - mostly crabbers and trawlers operate from the harbour. As you'd expect, there are plenty of seafood restaurants to sample. |
